The Examined Review

The Examined Review is a print-only publication featuring writing from those in and around the Matthew Strother Center, edited by Adam Moritz (MSCEL Spring ‘24, FA Spring ‘25). It was started as an attempt to give tangible form to the ongoing conversations which comprise the life-texture of the Matthew Strother Center.

Its first issue launched in June 2025, featuring essays, dialogues, and poetry from Ethan Blake , Franklin Eccher, Philip Nguyen, Jackie Brown, Christine Perrin, and Rainer Maria Rilke.  It is now sold out.

The second issue released in September 2026, including nonfiction by Leslie Atkins and Mark Howe, fiction by Leonard Nalencz, an interview with Benjamin Laufer, in addition to a number of essays, paintings, and weavings by Anni and Josef Albers. It is available to purchase here.
