The Examined Review
The Examined Review is a print-only publication featuring writing from those in and around the Matthew Strother Center, edited by Adam Moritz (‘24, FA ‘25). It was started as an attempt to give tangible form to the ongoing conversations which comprise the life-texture of the MSCEL. Included in its first issue were essays, poems, a dialogue, a crossword puzzle, and the first English translation of an early essay by Rainer Maria Rilke.
As a newspaper, it is meant to be folded, read, scribbled on, used as kindling, read again, cherished, and thrown away (or preferably recycled); it is not a precious object, but an ephemeral bottling of a particular and continuous moment.
Its second issue is expected to launch Summer 2026.
